In Theory of Knowledge, we're talking about the social function of art, and what the heck that means. Now I've never been too good at conventional art (I got a B- in 7th grade art...) but I'd like to think of fashion as an art form, and I might be kind of good at that? My idea of the social function of art is self-expression and social commentary. Trends generally lead to style archetypes or personalities you come to associate with those articles of clothing, for example, androgynous and "provocative" clothing are "rebellious" and undermine traditional femininity. What do you think is the the purpose of art? Leave comments down below, hopefully it'll be an interesting discussion.

  1. Your outfit is great ♥ I follow you ♥

  2. awesome look! i think a lot of people can agree that art is everywhere.. architecture, music, film, fashion and of course paintings and sculpture. i'm studying art and can openly admit that it's not the be all and end all of life but it's what makes life worth living! it poses questions and reflects the mindset of society and culture which i think is important! i totally agree with you about fashion, fashion is interesting because you are literally wearing what you want to show to the world and mirroring your mood or how you want to be seen or whatever.
wow this was a long comment but i thought it was an interesting topic x

    1. Thank you so much for responding! I'm really interested in what other people have to say about it because I also think it's just really fascinating that art can be an extension of us as people, and to an extent can be what makes us human.
