nyc beanie: H&M mens | cardigan: kohls | turtleneck: kohls | pants: kohls | platforms: kohls
[photos by Sonia Yeh]

Today was a little "outing with the girls" and I actually brought my camera, but obviously forgot my XD card like the super-professional blogger I am, so I apologize for the grainy quality of these photos in advance. However, it was pretty awesome to just kick back with the babes at Dripp & Bruxie's. Dripp especially - it's so hip in there! I can't wait to go back!
I think it's pretty obvious now that I do a lot of shopping at Kohls - and I mean, its proximity and relative inexpensiveness probably have something to do with that. These polka dot pants are pretty much an updated version of pajamas, also the cardigan is kind of like a warm fuzzy blanket. (sensing a trend?)

A whiff of peppermint, a flash of red and green. Sprigs of mistletoe pop out from the most unsuspecting of ceilings, santa hats a prevalent topper. IT'S CHRISTMAS! But the semi-stressful part of Christmas? The gift-giving. And, as there's 3 days left, you better hustle if you want to be the season's greatest gifter. Here are some ideas if you're stuck in a rut!
1. The reader: For the person whose nose is always in a book. Anthony Burgess' A Clockwork Orange a classic, and the question of self-identity and what it truly means to "be yourself," always makes for a riveting read. 2. The indie fanatic: For the person who always rattles off the names of bands you don't know. Who couldn't appreciate the leather-jacketed smoothness of the Arctic Monkeys' AM album ($11.99)? 3. The caffeine fiend: For the person who can't live without their daily jolt. This cute antler printed mug (occa-home.co.uk, $16) is sure to start the morning off right with a cup of joe, or end the day in bed with a cup of tea. 4. The beauty queen: For the girl who can't leave the house without her heartbreaker red lipstick. This Pur lipstain (Kohls, $15) will probably last longer, and red nails (Essie's Thigh Highs, $8) are a classic. 5. The sartorialist: For your fashionista friend. These adorable loafers (Asos, $13) will go with anything she puts together and keep her comfy too! 6. The mathlete: For the smarty-pants with a flair for organization. This Easy as Pi pencil pouch (Modcloth, $20) would be quite the treat, as she'd probably have fun solving the equations on the outside too. 7. The guy indie fanatic: For the guy you'd already lied about listening to a band to. Impress him further by listening to the band, then buying him the artist's shirt. 8. The future cat lady: For your favorite cool cats. You can talk about how much you hate people in it! Electrifying!

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays!,

top: target | pants: jcpenney | jacket: local store | shoes: deena & ozzy brand, via burlington

Yo, what up, it's Kripa! Long time no blog, I know, but I'm here now, and I'm relaunching this blog as Ya Homme Girl! If you're a little Fran├žais-savvy, you'd know that "homme," means man in French. The juxtaposition of "homme girl," is a reference to my love of androgyny in fashion. But wait! Of course we couldn't stop at one layer of meaning, so the pronunciation "home girl," is a tribute to my LA hometown and its gangster slang.
Aaaanyways, onto the outfit! These pants were a Black Friday buy, and I love them to death. They're reminiscent of the infamous Philip Lim SS13 plaid (far right), and this clean minimalist print will be great for the winter and spring. Also, because black and white can be boring, I added my metallic holographic creeper-platform shoes (wow that's a mouthful!) They are quite literally EVERYTHING, and every time I wear em out I get compliments. They're by the brand Deena & Ozzy, and I'm pretty sure they were sold at UO at some point in time, but I got them at Burlington for only $13, which was quite the steal.

Hope y'all are doing well & good luck with finals!
Kripa Mehta.
